Current needed to power Intel S2600TPR

Hi,

I was wondering how much current is needed to power the Intel S2600TPR? I know that I need two Molex Minifit Jr connectors, each with 3 positive 12 volt pins and 3 ground pins.

Thanks,

Macrules34

Hello Nick Jane Jr,

In regards to your question, it is recommended between a 1600 to 2130 watt power supply for an Intel designed 2U server platform, for more additional information please check page 176 of the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-boards/S2600TP_HNS2600TP_TPS_R1_48.pdf power supply specification guidelines for the Intel S2600TPR page 148.

Best regards,

I'm only powering one board do I still need 1600-2130watt power supply's? I'm not running this board in an intel chassis, rather a 3rd party chassis.

Thanks,

Hello Macrules34,

You can use a power supply with a lower wattage; however, keep in consideration that in you are planning to add a more additional hardware the power supply might not support all these devices.

That is why we recommend using at least 1600 watt power supply.

Hello,

The previous link was only a guide that might help you finding the proper power supply for your system depending on your system configuration. Even though the document mentions the S5500WB Server Board family, it can also help you finding a power supply the S2600TPR.

Now, as we mentioned on the previous thread, it is recommended between a 1600 to 2130 watt power supply for an Intel designed 2U server platform, feel free checking the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-boards/S2600TP_HNS2600TP_TPS_R1_48.pdf power supply specification guidelines for the Intel S2600TPR page 148.
