Hi,

I have a server with Intel integrated Raid RMS2AF040 that is configured for RAID 1 array with 2 SAS drives. I added 2 sata drives that are recognized by the controller. the question is can i create a second raid 1 array? if so what are the steps?

thanks

Yes you can. You can add a second VD using either RAID BIOS console or RAID Web Console 2. For more details, see the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-022358.htm Intel® RAID Software user's guide.

thanks edward, i figured out how to do this via the web console. I was just being dense.

you need to remove the new drives from being JBOD in the physical tab

then you need to select the logical tab

right click on the controller and select create a new virtual drive

the wiward kicks in at this point and walks you through the process

thanks again
