Found some info and had a talk with intel, suprised they gave me phone support on such an old product. Getting the VD's back was a case of adding, not creating new configurations to match the old settings for each set of drives. Was able to boot and see all three VD's. What I was unable to do is add a new drive to VD 0, the boot drive array. New server being installed this weekend so I'm good now.
