Enabling SSD Caching

I only put this here because I guess the Intel RAID controller card I bought is considered a server product. Anyways, I just bought the little key that unlocks SSD chaching. I spent a couple hours last night trying to figure out how to enable it. Funny enough I noticed it was turned on on my HD array but not my SSD array. I thought the whole point was to greatly enhance the speed of my SSD array. Any help would be appreciated. I hope I don't have to rebuild the array but I can since I have a full backup.

patseguin,

See the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-022358.htmhttp:// RAID Software User's Guide in the sections on MegaRAID Fast path on page 25 and Enabling Super Sized Cache on page 161.

Regards,

John

OK my feature is actually SSD Caching, not Super Sized Cache. I do see the linke in the console but it's black and I can't click it. Do I have to redo the SSD array if I want tenable the feature?

Doesn't look like an enable/disable option for level 2 MegaRAID Fast path. As the document says, its enabled automatically when the AXXRSPFKSSD is installed. That would explain why the link isn't active.
