Expanding Storage Pool and Virtule Drive on Modular Server

I am wanting to expand a storage pool and virtual drive on an MFSYS25 modular server. I've read through the documentation but nowhere does it specify whether or not servers that are using the virtual drives should be up or down at the time of the expansion. My assumption is that they can be up but then there is warning in the documentation that it may take several hours to complete, which leads me to believe that the servers should be down. Can someone give me a straight answer as to whether this can be done with servers activily using the drives? Thanks.

No you don't need to shut down your servers. Expending can be done while the server is using the drives. However it might impact disk performance when the background task is running.
