Fan control for Intel server boards ?

I'm redeploying an Intel SE7501CW2 server handed down to our department. Dual Xeon 3.2 ghz. Fresh reinstall of Win Server 2003 Enterprise + SP2 this morning.

Fans seem to be running at 100% speed. Are they supposed to ? Or is it more like HP Proliant servers where the fans will run full speed until you install the management software on top of the OS? If so, what software package should I be looking for ? Unless I overlooked it, I didn't see anything obvious in the downloads for this board.

That board doesn't have an onboard BMC. Assuming you've already got the latest BIOS, I can't think of anything else that would make the fans spin full speed.

The only reference I see on support is a note about LANDESK needing an update - http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/se7501cw2/sb/cs-007280.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/se7501cw2/sb/cs-007280.htm

Do you have LANDESK installed?
