Hello,

I have Intel RAID Controller SRCSATAWB. The problem is that is not reading disk temperatures nowhere (RWC2, RAID BIOS or other 3'rd party apps) and i get error ID 113 on all drives over and over:

Ciprian,

Are you using a backplane? You must connect the IPMB cable for updating the hot-swap controller firmware, reading the temperature, and detecting drive presence to the backplane.

I don't know if it'll help, but you might want to update the SRCSATAWB firmware. I think v11.0.1-0042 is the latest for the controller.

John

Thank you for reply. The drives are directly connected into RAID Controller with provided MINI-SAS to SATA cables.

In my research, i found that the last FW available for SRCSATAWB is v11.0.1-0036.

* I made a mistake in first post, i've upgraded to v11.0.1-0036 then back to v11.0.1-0022. but nothing, ID 113 is still there*

I can't find better than 11.0.1-0036 on support page for SRCSATAWB, there is no v1.0.1-0042.

Best regards,

Ciprian

Ciprian,

The v1.0.1-0042 package was posted recently and took a bit to go live. I checked, it's there now.

Yes, indeed ... found it ! Thanks

Update to v11.0.1-0042 didn't helped ... any thoughts ? .. something changed indeed, now are more ID 113 Info's seem that for now the best thing is to disable ID 113.

So nothing ? ... the only solution is to disable Event ID 113.

ciprain, Can you get logs from the controller and attach them here for me to take a look? Use CommandTool2 and run: cmdtool2 -adpalilog -aall > raidlog.txt Attach raidlog.txt here. John

ciprain,

In addition, have you been using this SRCSATAWB in the system for some time and did the 113 errors just start, or is this a new installation?

Have you tried it on different system by chance? What server/motherboard are you using?

John, I have the same issue with package version 11.0.1-0022, on a serverboard 7520BD2V with a Intel backplane.

When you say: You must connect the IPMB cable for updating the hot-swap controller firmware, reading the temperature, and detecting drive presence to the backplane. Is that cable included? What happens if that cable is not connected (except for the messages?)

Tom

Tom,

The IPMB cable is usually indlcuded with the backplane kit. See the http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/c51491_002_drivecageupgkit_installguide.pdf Drive Cage Upgrade Kit Installation Guide for the Intel® Server Chassis SC5300 & Intel® Entry Server Chassis SC5275-E.

As indicated, in addition to hot-swap controller firmware updates, the signals that pass thropugh the IPMB cable include baclplane temperature and drive presence.

It seems like "drive presence" is pretty important.
