I just bought a S3420gplc motherboard to put esx on.

I can't get the sata drive to be seen for the install. I have tried different modes to no avail. Am I missing something?

can you throw more light on board sku's detail and ESX version# ?

BTW, can you quickly check whether SATA drive is reflecting in BIOS setup.

The version is E74801-403. Sorry should have been more verbose. The drive does show up in the bios. I have tried all modes except the Matrox raid. My ESX is 4 171294. Maybe I need to get a later version?

vSphere 4 should work..

In BIOS setting which mode you have opted? which Harddrive make you have ?

Which mode have you tried? The support VMWare version is 4.0 update 1...
