Can someone help me diagnose what this error is referring to on my server? This is a relatively new server:

Under System, Dashboard, Misc, I get the following error:

  • Intel®Active System Console error: SmaRT-CLST Stat reports it has been asserted, Assertion Event. - transition to critical from less severe from PSU sensor 0x66

Some specs:

Baseboard S2600CW 0 Intel Corporation H12881-251

Pwr Supply 1 FRU DPS-750XB A 2 DELTA E98791-010

Pwr Supply 2 FRU DPS-750XB A 3 DELTA E98791-010

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v3 @ 2.40GHz CPU1

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630 v3 @ 2.40GHz CPU2

A sample from report generator:

2016-04-14 01:29:56SmaRT-CLST Stat reports it has been asserted Assertion Event. - transition to critical from less severe from PSU sensor 0x66CRITICALClosed8622016-04-14 01:29:57SmaRT-CLST Stat reports it has been asserted Assertion Event. - transition to critical from less severe from PSU sensor 0x66CRITICALOpen8632016-04-14 01:29:57SmaRT-CLST Stat reports it has been asserted Assertion Event. - transition to critical from less severe from PSU sensor 0x66CRITICALClosed864

I can't find anything relating to this, or what to do when IASC produces a CRITCAL event.

Thanks!

I chatted with Cindy, she emailed me a link to boot into a UEFI USB dongle, to get some information:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25437/Intel-System-Information-Retrieval-Utility-SysInfo-?v=t https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25437/Intel-System-Information-Retrieval-Utility-SysInfo-?v=t

At this time, it is very difficult to do this, as this machine is in production. Is there at least some information that could be given, in what this error is about?

I downloaded an HTML of the server EVENTS using the IASC. How can I upload the .zip of the HTML events exported from IASC?

Please advise what this is, the errors, and what to do about it.

Hello,

In order to narrow the issue accurately, our best recommendation is scheduling downtime and run the application so you can forward us the logs. The IASC information will not show us such information. Thank you for your understanding.

Was this ever resolved as I have about 10 servers all in production use, that are showing this exact same error with the same model family for board and power supply. And don't say firmware, if it was then at this point you have had 3 years to fix it, and it is still not fixed.

Hello, have a Intel S2600CWR with 2x Dps-750xb Switching Power Supply E98791-010 750w

the server is shutting down/off/restarting at random intervals.

and the same "transition to critical from less severe from psu"

trying to debug the problem.

could the power supplies be the problem?

here is a screenshots from BMC Web Console

2020-02 bmc bios server log.png

windows server 2012 r2 shows only/windows logs show:

  [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power

system was not unexpected shutdown at 10:37:47

PS: it could also be the USV / power outage to blame... changed USV no "blackout" since 2020-02-10 (only 2 days not exactly sufficient for a statistic but well)
