Intel® RAID Controller SRCSASBB8I - SAS 6GB/s 3TB support

Hi everyone,

I've been reading the product documentation for the following Intel RAID controller

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/raid-controller-srcsasbb8i-brief.pdf http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/raid-controller-srcsasbb8i-brief.pdf

However, I can't seem to find if it will support SAS 6GB/s drives with a capacity of 3TB?

I have Seagate Constellation 6GB/s SAS models ST33000650SS

My current controller, the AXXROMBSASMR does not

I have a sneaking suspicion it won't because it's still the LSI SAS1078 ROC

Any advice or can anyone recommend a RAID controller that will work?

Thanks

hadders,

You refer to the SRCSASBB8I RAID controller in your first post and then point out documentation for the RS2BL0x0 and RS2BL080 RAID controllers. Is it the BB8I you're interested in? If so, here;'s a link to the SRCSASBB8I http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/srcsasbb8i/sb/CS-028826.htm Tested Hardware and Operating Systems List.

John

hadders,

My apologies, I missed that you were looking for a controller compatible with the drives you have.
