Intel S5000XVNSATAR Status LED blinking in amber

Hi,

i have an intel server board S5000XVNSATAR which has a system status LED blinking in amber color continuosly. I am unable to find the cause and correct the problem... this is my new board just 10 day old replaced it with my old server board S5000XVNSATA. My old motherboard had this issue 3yrs after its purchase , i ignored it and did not keep any follow up on the issue ... now just a month ago this motherboard had the system status LED in solid amber color... showed no sign of booting , no display , nothing happening. So i replaced it with a new one S5000xvnSATAR. Now my new motherboard is indicating this issue too early and i am afraid of loosing its functionality. Kindly help me understand what exactly is happening.

My Server Configuration :

Intel S5000XVNSATAR server board

16 gb Ram

Ati Radeon 5700 HD graphics Card.

Intel Xeon Quadcore E5310 x 2 , processors.

700Watt Seventec Power Supply.

Install and run the http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18895 sysinfo utility. Check the result files for errors.

i tried running sysinfo.exe .. but the backend.exe fails to execute and crashes. I am using windows 7 ultimate... is this the issue ?

Please go to windows\Binaries folder and run install.bat first. You may need to run it as administrator.

i ran install.bat as an administrator and then i ran sysinfo.exe (as an administrator) and again the backend.exe crashed.

Go to Device Manager and see if there is a device called "Microsoft Generic IPMI driver". Delete it and run install.bat again. That should install the Intel IPMI driver properly.

If sysinfo still doesn't run, try to run http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18871 SEL viewer to grab hardware events only.

OK I noticed SYS FAN 4 is not getting any readings. If you don't have a fan connected to SYS FAN 4, run FRUSDR update again and select the corret fans.

Yes ! Finally the "System Status LED is static green". I ran the FRUSDR,BIOS & BMC update with Intel Deployement Assistant and got the FAN issue resolved.

My question to you ..Can i perform any diagonistics with my previous Board (S5000xvnSATA) , it has "System Status Led" in Static Amber color , on powering the machine .. the CPU fans run but i can't see any Display... except this LED no other LEDs are glowing.

If the same components works on another board then most likely it's board failure. You may try to clear COMS and select BIOS bank using the jumper. For more information, refer to the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5000xvn/sb/CS-023168.htm Technical product specification.
