Hi All,
I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. So here I am.
We just purchased a Intel Server System R2216GZ4GC with :
Kingston ValueRAM
Memory - 16 GB - DIMM 240-pin - DDR3 - 1600 MHz / PC3-12800 - CL11 - 1.5 V
- registered - ECC - Intel Memory Validation Program
KVR16R11D4/16I 8
2 Intel Xeon E5-2630V2
2.6 GHz - 6-core - 12 threads - 15 MB cache - LGA2011 Socket - Box
The server starts the fans and I can see lights on the mobo but it will no post (no beeps) and no video to see what is going on. I have two DIMMS installed in A1 and E1 memory slots. This is the first time it has ever been started.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Mark

BIOS revision 1.08 or later is required to boot a Xeon E5-2600 V2 processor. If the PBA# of the board is lower than -354, then you may need a V1 processor to boot the system and upgrade the BIOS/Firmware. See PCN http://qdms.intel.com/dm/d.aspx/B94D0A3A-924A-4101-85D1-B3ACA915F000/PCN112336-01.pdf 112336-01 for details.
You may also try to boot with one CPU and one DIMM first. Check the status of the POST Diagnostic LED:
That must be it - there is no green sticker with V2 on the box. I did try the following tshoot procedure but that did not work either.

Hi,
Intel shipped me an older E5-2600 processor and I was able to update the BIOS and then install the V2 CPUs. Fixed.
