Hi,
I'm looking into building a few storage servers, hopefully using Linux mdadm. I've been eyeing the Intel R2312GL4GS because of its physical disk carrying size. In the description it has varying RAID levels, but does not mention JBOD. Does that mean if I purchase this server im forced to use the build in RAID? Can I put the disks in some kind of JBOD setup?
Thanks
Greg

The onboard SAS/SATA controller can operate in ESRT2 mode or RSTe mode. ESRT2 doesn't support pass-through, while RSTe does. However, currently Linux is not officially supported on RSTe for this board. You may want to try latest kernel which already has RSTe driver embedded.
