If the onboard battery of the AXXRSBBU8 BBU is old and depleted, can it be replaced with just a new battery, or does the entire AXXRSBBU8 need to be purchased again? If the answer is yes to just replacing the battery, what is a good source for purchasing the battery?

To answer your question, there is no specific part number for just the battery so we suggest replacing the whole kit using the part number http://ark.intel.com/products/56117/Intel-RAID-Smart-Battery-AXXRSBBU8 AXXRSBBU8
