MFSYS35 with Intel® Modular Server Storage Management Pack questions.

Hi,

I need to convert a couple of RAD5 LUNS to RAID 10. We have not got the Intel® Modular Server Storage Management Pack. However I believe that I can use this for 30 days in evaluation. Are there any limitations with it in evaluation.

Also does anyone know if its possible to re-size a LUN so that it is smaller?

Thanks,

Mark

Hello, Mark -

There are no limitations to the functionality of the pack during the 30-day trial.

I also would like to make use of the 30-day trial for the Intel Modular Server Storage Management Pack. Could some one let me know how to do this? ?Thanks

You may want to refer to the following http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-030986.htm documentation on how to activate this feature.

Seems like no vendor is selling the activation key any more. Would any one know?

This product has been already http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-034564.htm discontinued. It is uncertain to know if you would be able to find this item thought our distribution channel. You may want to take advantage of the 30-day trial option that it offers through the Intel® Modular Server Control.

I could not find a way to activate in trial mode, could you please show me how. Unless someone in our organization has already activated the trial period and MSC no longer showing this option. Thanks

Could you provide the firmware version for the CMM?

Could you provide us with a screenshot of the options you are getting when you click on Feature Activation?

In case of doubt, feel free to http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Intel Customer Support to check the logs of the unit and find out if the activation was already used or not.

Next that I am looking to do is to convert the drive pool from RAID10 to RAID5. Is this possible?

You should be able to change your RAID 10 into a RAID 5 as long as you have space available in your Storage Pool.
