I have an Intel RAID controller in my Dell computer and the most recent version of Matrix Storage Manager. Recently one of my RAID 1 250 G disks failed. I replaced the disk with a 500 G disk and rebuilt the array. I am preparing to replace the remaining 250 G disk with a new 500 G disk. After doing that is it possible to have the system recognize the full 500 G rather than the 250 G it sees now? Please let me know how to do this. Thanks.
I too had a raid 1 drive fail and replaced the 320 gb drive with a 1tb drive. I then replaced the remaining 320gb drive with another 1tb drive. I then did as suggested, create a second volume for the balance of he size of the drives. The problem I have is that I can see both volumes in Matrix 8.9 but can't see the balance of the drive in windows 7. My c drive still shows up as a 298 gb drive. I would prefer to increase the partition size to the full 1 tb but would be happy to just be able to use the rest of the drive and have it be raid 1. Any Suggestions?
When you create the second RAID volume, it appears as a second disk in Windows. So you'll need to go to Disk Management, initialize the new disk, format it and assign a drive letter.
