Hi All,

Any help would be much appreciated with this!

I have a brand new S5520SC in an SC5650WS (1000w intel chassis) with 2x 5620 Xeons.

The computer boots up beautifully with a single CPU in but as soon as i install the 2nd it will not power up.

Red warning light comes on the front panel and no diagnostic lights run, all the fans run and the system light at the rear panel is amber also. No beeps.. nothing.

I have tried with and without ram in different configurations that the manual says can be used when CPU2 is populated but it will not work.

Have i missed something here? Please help

Might be a dumb question, but do you have the 2nd 12V 2x4 CPU power connector connected?

If yes you may want to check for bent pins in CPU slot 2.

So part from Edward's suggestion, one other thing to look at is the stepping of the processor being added, also, perform a http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19387&lang=eng BIOS/Firmware update with one CPU & check if it also helps when adding the second one.
