Motherboard and processor look good. I would hesitate to use any memory not on the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/CS-032870.htm Intel Server Board S1200KP — Memory features and tested memory list
Also, since RHEL and SUSE are tested, but Solaris isn't, you may run into trouble finding drivers, unless you're good at compiling your own binaries. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/CS-032724.htm Intel Server Board S1200KP — Tested operating systems

The blog is a good source for anecdotal information. But if you run into any problem and need to contact support, they will ask you for details, including what memory you are using.
If you use untested memory, unpredictable results may occur.

Kewl,
So you will go to brycv.com and they will assume responsibility for any memory issues you may incur with your server, correct?
You're free to use the components of your choice in your server. However, if you choose to use components that are not tested/validated by Intel you will need to perform your own validation to your satisfaction. If you contact Intel with issues that may be related to non-Intel validated components, we may request the you substitute validated components for further troubleshooting.
Regards,
John
