Problem with Raid and VMWare

Hi all

 

I am a student and I currently have a problem with RAID and VMWARE

 

I have a server, with motherboard model s2400sc. a Raid 5 with 8 SAS disks and a Raid 10 with 4 SATA disks.

Until there's no problem

The problem is that when wanting to install VMWare ver.6, it does not show the fixes to be able to install it, instead it shows all the disks separately

 

The Raid controller are the integrated "intel RSTe" in SAS and "intel ESRT2" in SATA

The embedded RAID solutions on these Intel server boards are considered by VMWare like software RAIDs. Non of them are supported by VMWare and there are no drivers available on the VMWare website. To be able to install ESXi 6.0 in RAID you will need an actual hardware RAID card/module, either an Intel or an OEM/3rd party one.

 

For more information you can do a search for ESXi 6 software RAID support and you will find some information from the VMWare forums.
