RAID Model RMS3CC080 showing Foreign HDD,s in Controller

Hi I have Intel Server LWT2312 with Intel RAID Model RMS3CC080 its workinf fine with 12x SATA Hard Drives but when i use SAS drive with RAID its shows HDD Status (Foreign) in Pd Mgmt in Raid Controller, i am not able to make VD in this situation, kindly help me in this regard.

Hello Muhammad, Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support. I understand that when using SAS drive with the Intel RAID Model RMS3CC080 the drives are in a Foreign status and you are not able to configure the VD. In an effort to better assist you, can you please confirm the following: - Are these drives new? if not, have you test them into another system? - What type of cables is the system using to connect the Drives? - Was the previous RAID ARRAY configuration with the SATA drives was deleted or you only swap the drives? - Is it only saying Foreign or some else next to foreign? Hi Jeremiah, Thanks for quick response, here is the answers for each question. - yes these are new drives just removed from my New Dell server. - the cable which i am using is (Mini SAS HD - HD cable) received with same Intel Server . - previously there was no RAID configuration on that controller. - in *PD Mgmt* TAb its showing State (Foreign). Hi, Also using this HDD (Pic attached). Its removed from my Dell EMC SAN, with this HDD its showing *Blocked.* *Regards* *Ismail*

Hi Jeremiah Allen, Sorry for the late response actually i was out of office because of EID Holidays and was not able to check the mails as well. just checked from my senior tech support the issue was solved by changing the Hard Drives, these are Intel 1 TB SSD,s working fine with RAID. so thanks again & appreciated for the kind support in this regards.
