I've build S2600WFT for virtuliazition, current hardware in use:
RAID controller Intel RMS3AC160
RAID expander Intel RES3TV360
SSD Intel DC P4510 1Tb SSDPE2KX010T801 x4
HDD Seagate Barracuda 5Tb ST5000LM000 x10
HDD Seagate Enterprise Performance 2.4Tb ST2400MM0129 x10
24 drives total.
Bay installation looks like this:
(4+0) (4+0) (2+2) (2+2) (4+0) (4+0)
Where (4+0) is HDD and (2+2) is HDD and SSD.
So I got:
Drive 0: RAID10 10Tb
Drive 1: RAID5 40Tb
VROC: RAID0 4Tb
Configuration worked fine while I was using oVirt, but after I switched to VMWare and ESXi I can't use VROC, VMWare simply doesn't care for VROC and doesn't support it.
It wasn't much of a problem for a while, but currently I need to make use of my RAID0 SSDs.
RMS3AC160 doesn't see any SSDs, or can't recognize them as physicals drives, so I can't configure new drive group/virtual drive/new raid.
Is there a way to make SSDs visible for RMS3AC160 controller?
I went through multiple manuals and articles, and haven't find any answers.
If there is any need for additional information on my case, I'll try to prodvide it.

Hi AxelAxel,
Thank you for posting on Intel Community.
Please note RAID 0 is not supported by VROC on VMware (See section 2.2 in the link below)
So this is why, the volume is not visible now as you have migrated to this setup.
Please note you will need to back up the data and disable VROC, potentially through the BIOS, to view the drives once again.

VROC is not supported on VMware in general, I'm currently eyeballing solution with second LSI MegaRAID 9460-16i PCI Express controller and 2x LSI Logic 05-50062-00 cable (U.2 Enabler, MiniSAS HD (SFF8643) - OCuLink (SFF8612)).
Now I have a question if I really need second controller or second expander with 2x LSI cable. I would prefer solution with just expander.

Hi AxelAxel,
Thank you for posting on Intel Community.
For the query reported please note a new controller is required to support the PCI SSD’s, as the current controller only supports SATA and SAS.
Compatible/validated solutions can be found here: https://servertools.intel.com/sct/compatibility-tool/S2600WF
