RSP3TD160F compatible NVMe cables

Dear Sirs,

any idea whether there are cables available that will support the following? Have to use 3rd party Chassis.

1) RSP3TD160F to direct attach P4500 SSD series (SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 plus power). It seems that the broadly availabe cables with these specifications don't work. When using a PCIe Interface Card the SSDs are recognized, but when using Raid Card they are not. Heard about cables called "U.2 enabler cable". Anybody heard of it?

2) RSP3TD160F to a backplane using SFF-8643 for NVMe drives. Same Problem.

Hope anybody can give a hint.

Regards,

Sven

Hi SB111,

You want to connect PCIe NVMe drives (Intel® SSD DC P4500) to Intel® RAID Adapter RSP3TD160F.

I will need to collect more details of your system configuration before giving you an option. Please send us server motherboard model, chassis model and part number and model of the backplane.

Regards,

Dear Miguel,

Motherboard: Sawtooth Pass (S2600STB)

Raid Card: RSP3TD160F

SSD: 1TB P4500 NVMe

Chassis: Customized Industrial Chassis without any backplane / SSDs mounted inside, no hot-swap trays

NVMe cable: http://www.delock.de/produkte/G_84821/merkmale.html www.delock.de/produkte/G_84821/merkmale.html

Issue: SSD is not recognized with this cable on RC, SSD is recognized with this cable when using Interface Card as shown in the link of the cable

Regards,

Sven

Hi SB111,

You want to connect PCIe NVMe drives (Intel® SSD DC P4500) to Intel® RAID Adapter RSP3TD160F.

SB111 thank you for your update. In regards to your question, please take on consideration the RAID array requires being completed through motherboard BIOS on UEFI boot mode. The previous RAID BIOS does not recognize the NVMe drives plus the Intel® Tri-mode controllers are designed to work in the optimized UEFI boot mode.

It is necessary to use the https://ark.intel.com/products/124424/Oculink-Cable-Kit-AXXCBL700HDCV Oculink Cable Kit AXXCBL700HDCV to attach 2 NVMe PCIe drives to the RAID card (mini-SAS)
