Hello,

I'm looking at the Readme and Update Instructions that come with S2600ST_EFI_BIOSR0009_ME04.00.04.288.0_BMC1.29.7d703f59_FRUSDR_1.24. There is a statement that says:

#

uEFI System Update Package (SUP) Installation and Operation Instructions

Released - October 27, 2017

********************************************************************************

This update package includes the following production level system firmware

updates:

System BIOS - 00.01.0009

ME Firmware - 04.00.04.288

BMC Firmware - 1.29.7d703f59

FRUSDR - 1.24

--- Supported Products ---

Intel(R) Server Board S2600ST Family

Important notes:

WARNING: This release has the BMC PCIe bridge disabled. This will cause the

majority of operating systems to fail at boot as they stall during video

driver initialization.

#

Which FW element has the BMC PCIe bridge disabled, the BIOS or the BMC? We're using a 3rd party BMC provider and I need to know if this is something I can have them address or not.

Thanks.

Bob

Hello BobMoore55,

Hope you are doing fine.

According to the file the BMC handles this operation, but this release is from October 27, 2017.

We highly recommend updating all the packages using "startup.nsh" script to the latest firmware version for the S2600ST, you can download it on this https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27672/Intel-Server-Board-S2600ST-Family-BIOS-and-Firmware-Update-Package-for-UEFI-?product=93168 link.

Also, the "readme" file which we recommend you to read on thishttps://downloadmirror.intel.com/27672/eng/ReadMe%20and%20Update%20Instructions.txt link.

Having read the file you will see the on important notes some steps to recover a failing OS.

Please let us know if the information provided feeds your needs.

Charlie_Intel,

Thanks for your response. I don't see in that file where it clearly says that the BMC has this bridge disabled but I'll take your word for it.

We can close this issue.

Thanks again.

Charlie-

I see in this topic you were assisting Bob.

Do you happen to have a copy  ofof S2600ST_EFI_BIOSR0009_ME04.00.04.288.0_BMC1.29.7d703f59_FRUSDR_1.24?

I have a customer with a S2600ST board with an apparent beta bios 00.01.2001 - all of the bios versions available in the chain from intel downloads tell me to update that to 00.01.0004 then to .0009. But of course Intel only has back through .0012 as the oldest available in the archives.

I have .0004 but cant fine .0009 anywhere.

Any help appreciated.
