S2600GZ SR-IOV Support in BIOS

I have a S2600GZ motherboard with BIOS version R02.06.0007 and I am not able to turn on SR-IOV in the BIOS.

According to this link, SR-IOV is supported: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007947/server-products.html

Where can I find the BIOS option to enable this feature?

Hello zachj,

Thank you for joining the community

Due to this product being discontinued, Intel Customer Service no longer supports inquiries for it, but perhaps fellow community members have the knowledge to jump in and help. You may also find the Discontinued Products website helpful to address your request. Thank you for understanding.

You can find the available support information in the this site: Support for Intel® Server Board S2600GZ

Hope this helps

@JoseH_Intel I'm not asking you to provide me with support.  I'm asking you to provide a BIOS that does what your website promises...Alternatively, if you're telling me that your website is wrong--if the S2600GZ does not in fact support SR-IOV--then please correct your website.

Is it possible that there is a BIOS that implements SR-IOV that simply isn't shared publicly?  Your support team provided me a SAS controller firmware under similar circumstances late last year; see this thread: https://community.intel.com/t5/Server-Products/Where-can-I-get-firmware-bios-updates-for-RMS25JB080/m-p/1223370#M19833

Hi Zach. It has been a while since I had the Grizzly MB but I did locate the entire bios settings. I couldn't find SR-IOV in it, I'm wondering if it needs an optional 10GB I/O module to see it. Here is the link though. Hope it helps:

I've read the motherboard manual cover-to-cover...the simple fact is this:

The Intel website says it supports SR-IOV but they provide no settings in the BIOS to enable/disable it.  It's dishonest but sadly unsurprising from Intel.

I raised a support request with them asking the same question as above--to either remove the false statements from their website about SR-IOV support or to provide a BIOS that performs as advertised--and they outright closed my support request without providing any response.

Shame on you Intel.  The fact that it's an old product doesn't give you the right to make false statements about it and refuse to correct those when brought to your attention.
