Hi everyone!! So, I've managed to save an old server with a S3420GPLC board in it and figured I can make it my daily PC (I'm on a budget).
I've installed a network adapter an SSD and a X3470 CPU and everything works like a charm. Also got a fresh copy of Win10 Pro.
Now the memory issue. I have searched online for a good deal and found 6 sticks of SAMSUNG 4GB 1333 ddr3 M393B5170DZ1 CH9. The memory is listed in the supported and tested RAMs from the official INTEL document.
The ram is RDIMM and I've tested at first just one single stick in slot A1 but I only get 3 beep (memory error) and it wont start. Tried different sticks but all the same results
Also tried to populate all 6 slots but I get 18 beep (3x6) and nothing happens.
I know it's a no longer supported board but I would love to save it from scrap. I figured that maybe is a BIOS issue? I still have the 08.00.10 version from 9/30/2009 and never upgraded it but I can't find a newer version online.
Or should I disable the RAID controller?
Please help!
Thank you
