Purchased a S5000PSL with either 2 Xeon L5420 or E5420. I started messing with it last night. All I get are two beeps and nothing. The beeps are the same with RAM installed and not installed. Any ideas?
I didn't see anything in the PSL documentation, but I did find http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-031281.htm Intel� 5 Series Chipset Boards — No video and two beeps during boot . If you look at the POST code LEDs, are you seeing anything like Off R R R? There's not an add-in video card installed, is there?
I figured out the issue. I a replaced another board with the S5000PSL and did not remove all the stand-offs in the from the old board. Once I removed the unnecessary stand-offs the S5000PSL had no issues.
