S5000PSL IPMI, how to access and configure

Hello All;

Just now got my replacement Motherboard in, and it works!! YEAH!!

OK, so the question is this.

How do you setup and configure IPMI on this board?

I am in the BIOS, and for what I have read, it states that it would be in the [Advanced] Tab of the BIOS.

However, I am not seeing it.

BIOS

Version: S5000.86B.15.00.0101

Build Date: 11/09/2010

Doing a Google search, there are people that are using it. So, how do you access it?

Thanks

Wayne

Hello Wayne,

I was able to find the configuration utility http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/g88217001_syscfg_userguide_rev04.pdf User's Guide for this end of interactive support board.

You should find everything you need to use IPMI on this document. Let us know if you need anything else.

I found this.

Configuring the HTTP/S Channel – enable, port # , user type

With this example

syscfg /hc

Which would be

syscfg /hc http 2 enable 80

However, when I run it, it says: invalid switch 'hc'

here is the document

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/c8175506.pdf http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/c8175506.pdf

page 15

If this is what I need to enable the web interface, then it seems that it is not going to allow me to do it.

Need some information on this, please.

Wayne

It's WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, you do not know how good this feels.

OK. I followed the steps on the second post on this thread.

/thread/17676 https://communities.intel.com/thread/17676

I did my jumper, and powered on, waited 60 seconds, powered off, removed the jumper.

(This does a factory Reset on the RMM2 Board)

Then I booted the system.

And I did my IP Address in Chrome, and it gave me the URL of.

192.168.2.100/auth.asp

But it would NOT load.

So, I opened up IE and loaded the URL, and it IS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO excited right now.

ALL IS GOOD!!!!

Thanks to all that stayed with me on this issue, and tried to assist.

Now we know what needs to be done.

And hopefully, this will prove to be helpful to others that come in with the same issue.
