S5500BC Problems

Hi

I am building a server with S5500BC motherboard, E5506 xeon processor, STS100A Thermal Solution, 3 x 1TB Western Digital Harddrive in Raid 5, 4 x 2 GB Kingston RAM, optical drive on a third party case with 650W power supply

System did not start, after trouble shooting found that system works fine with 1 processor but does not start when second processor is put in... no screen display, status led turns amber

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Make sure you've got sufficient amperage on the 12 volt rail.

You can also try with 2 procs, but only one DIMM.

Agree with DanO on this check that the PSU has the kick to do the board and 2 processors.
