Is the RAM on Intel's list of compatible hardware or conversely found on the RAM manufacturer's list of suggested RAM?

Compatible hardware with Intel Workstation Board S5520SC is listed on a linked PDF following this link:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5520sc/sb/CS-030228.htm Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC — Tested Memory and Hardware List

A company like Kingston would suggest the following, some of which can be found on Intel's tested list:

http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=7&Mfr=INT&Line=S5520SC%20/%20S5520SCR&Model=54391&Description=Kingston_ValueRam_Memory_Server_Premier_Memory_Intel_Cerfified_Memory_for_INT_S5520SC_/_S5520SCR_Intel_-_S5520SC_/_S5520SCR_Workstation Kingston Server Premier for Intel S5520SC / S5520SCR Workstation

What RAM are you trying? I also have an S5520SC under my desk.

Crucial CT25664BA1339 2GB 240 P/N DIMM 256MX64 DDR3.

Others have said that perhaps I need to update the BIOS and I have tried to do this to no avail.

My 8GB that is already installed is the Crucial type that I mentioned.

And this box for replying has some strange spelling/wording that makes it difficult.

My Email is mailto:rwatson767@aol.com rwatson767@aol.com.

I checked the model of the memory you are using and it seems that these modules are Non-ECC modules, and that the modules are rated for Desktop systems.

Intel always recommends the use of validated hardware to avoid unforeseen issues.
