SATA controller doesn't work in S2600CWR motherboard.

I have S2600CWR motherboard.

I am using Internal Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 to 4 SATA cabe to connect HDDs

Unfortunately I can't see HDDs neither in BIOS nor OS.

I am using SSD disks:

SATA 480GB Patriot Burst

And HDD:

SATA WD 1Tb.

There is SSD disk attached in M.2 port. ADATA 120Gb (Available as SATA_4).

If you connect disk to SATA_5 it is available in BIOS. So it is not power issue.

Hi, Jose,

Yes I have received cables, as I figured out, there are different Mini SAS HD cables:

  • (SFF-8643) - Internal
  • (SFF-8644) - External

And more important: there are:

  • Normal
  • Reverse Breakout Cross-Over

I found right one.

Hello Pavliukevych.V,

Thank you for joining the community

Looking at the picture it looks you have the cable connected to the SATA ports 0-3 so it should show up under AHCI controller under any of the SATA ports 0-5. If you enable the sSATA controller then you might need to move the cable to the other SFF-8643 port and will show up under any of the sSATA ports 0-3. The cable part number you need to use is AXXCBL450HD7S

Hope it helps

Regards

Hello Pavliukevych.V,

Before providing you with the pinout data sheet which is information not that easily available, let me ask you if by any chance you are using any HDD back plane and/or SAS expander where your cable is connected to. I want to discard any possible variables before jumping out to say the cable is the issue.

Will look forward for your updates

Hello Pavliukevych.V,

When you say "I am using SATA disks direct connected to SATA connector." you mean you are still using the SuperMicro cable? By any chance you have original Intel cable still available, it is supposed to be included with the server original packaging.

After checking the video I saw a thing. You want to disable the Quiet Boot in BIOS in order to see the Ctrl+I prompt during POST.

Let me know how it goes

Hi,

Yes I am still using Supermicro cable.

>>One Mini-SAS cable - iPC AXXCBL450HD7S is included in the server chassis while the other cables must be ordered separately, as needed.

mini sas hd cable not be included in motherboard packaging.

I have played with BIOS a bit , so there is RAID configuration menu right in the BIOS settings (for UEFI mode) and Ctrl+E menu available for legacy.

Any way there is no SATA_0, 1, 2, 3 available there.

I am ordered and waiting for delivery new Supermicro cables, unfortunately Intel official cable will be available in next tree weeks only.

I am just following up to doublecheck if you have already received the SuperMicro replacement cables and if this resolved your issue.

I will look forward for your updates
