I had installed centos 6.4 to SR1550AL system with one CPU, but I got second CPU's fan today and tried to run server with two core but gives first green blink at status led and goes to power led to sleep(repeated too many times) then I had resetted CMOS after that status led amber on power led staying at green but no bios, what should I do?

Try going back to just one processor. Do the POST code LEDs give you any indication of where, in the boot process, the board is stopping?

Next question, how can I reset CPU' s fan power or how can I make it auto setup. Because I think there is a power problem on board? when 2 core running power became on and off repeadly...

I meant the LEDs on the back of the chassis, here

Since it works fine going back to a single processor, can you verify that the two processors have the same markings on them?

SLANG shows as an E5205 on ARK

http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SLANG http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SLANG

Do you mean the first board has one E5440, and one E5205?

If so, mixing processors isn't a good idea.

If that is one processor, marked SLANG *and* also marked as an E5440, then there is a problem, and it may not be a genuine Intel processor.

That one is also a 45nm processor, which means it does require a board with revision level D13607-903 or thereabouts. what is the board revision that you have?

The second one, SL9RR, does match up to an LV 5148 on ARK

http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SL9RR http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SL9RR

Does that server have just one processor, or two?

it is not http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SLANG http://ark.intel.com/search?q=SLANG,different. I have two boards and each one of them has 2 CPU, and one board has two CPU marked:

2.33GHZ/4M/1333/LV

INTEL XEON

S148 SL9RR COSTA RICA

i 05

other one has two CPU marked:

INTEL06 E5440

INTEL XEON

SLANG COSTA RICA

2.83 GHZ/12M/1333

also SLANG marked E5440 was worked with SR1550AL board very good with one CPU until I got seconds new CPU's. Firstly I mixed them with out any known but after that I had recognized the problem and sapareted them, however after that point no CPU is works.. The even not works.. no clearence of BIOS also didnt work. I need to know how to decode post code leds..

Is it possible that your E5440 processor is SLANS instead of SLANG?

I would suggest you first try each of the processors one by one in slot 1 to make sure they're working.

To decode the POST code, refer to the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5000pal/sb/CS-022640.htm Intel® Server Board S5000PAL technical product specification, Appendix C.

The Intel E5440 will work, but it does require a board with revision level D13607-903 or thereabouts.

There should be a white sticker on that server board, that has the serial number, the letters, "PBA", then a number of the pattern "D12345-678". What is that PBA number on the board that you have?

Yes there is a stiker on board like you said:

PBA D13607-804

Referencing http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-028540.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-028540.htm :

Intel® Xeon® processors 5400 and 5200 series require specific hardware and software revisions

S5000PALR

891957

D13607-902 or later

The E5440 will not work on a board that is D13607-804, I am sorry to say. However, the 5148 processor does not have such a limitation.

Are both boards of the -804 revision, or is one of them a -903 revision?

See http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-022346.htm Tested processor list. Xeon Processor 5200 and 5400 series are not supported on -804 board. Other CPUs in the list are supported.
