Hi,

I read the user guide "d39172006_ss4000e_user_guide.pdf" in page 167, "Table 5. Hardware Specifications", where the "Maximum Capacity up to 3TB".

I have 4 HD's working in RAID 0+1. I wanto to connect more 2 EXTERNAL HD's in USB ports.

My question is: What configuration below can be used?

CONFIGURATION 01

HD 1TB \

HD 1TB / MIRROR = 1TB \ / EXTERNAL HD 500GB

2TB + 1TB

HD 1TB \ MIRROR = 1TB / \ EXTERNAL HD 500GB

HD 1TB /

CONFIGURATION 02

HD 1TB \

HD 1TB / MIRROR = 1TB \ / EXTERNAL HD 1TB

2TB + 2TB

HD 1TB \ MIRROR = 1TB / \ EXTERNAL HD 1TB

HD 1TB /

I appreciate any information.

Aelson Guerra

I believe the 3TB limitation is for internal HDDs only. External USB drives are not counted. However, I strongly recommend you use the disks in http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/ss4000-e/sb/CS-022212.htm Tested hardware and operating system list.
