Server board S1200 SNMP

I have a server board S1200BTL, running Window 2008 R2. I'm trying to get SNMP working. I've installed the latest subagent utility and ensured the Windows SNMP service has been started. SNMP testers are coming back with no response at all. I've read through the whitepaper for the subagent, but it's not really clear as to which ports are used or if any further configuration other than default is necessary.

I've opened ports 161 and 162 in the Windows firewall, but since I'm doing the testing from the server itself, that shouldn't matter.

Has anyone had any experience with SNMP on Intel boards?

Hi Peter,

The version 8.1, build 11 of Intel® SNMP Subagent Stand-Alone Intel® Server Management Utility for Intel® Server Boards and Systems Based on Intel® 62X Chipset was released for the latest Intel® Server Boards with https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/xeon/scalable/xeon-scalable-platform.html Intel® Xeon® processor Scalable family.

According to your Server board model S1200BTL and operating system Window 2008 R2; I suggest you use the application https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23385/SNMP-Sub-Agent-Stand-alone-Intel-Server-Management-U... Intel® SNMP Subagent v5.0 build 14

Additionally, I suggest you configure SNMP following Microsoft recommendations. I found this link from their website: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/a10ae19b-c4d7-4372-bda0-c771c6d4cca3... How to configure SNMP on Windows 2008 Server

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Hi Mike C, thanks for the reply. The guide was helpful, but still wouldn't work without a full restart. Even after the restart, I couldn't telnet to port 161, yet my SNMP tester worked. Happy days.
