Server board SE7501BR2 and 320GB IDE HD

I have a Server board SE7501BR2

Is it possible to install windows server 2003 in a 320GB IDE Maxtor HD

I want to use the server but I have not been able to make the disk to be recognized

 

the buss only see the CD ROM, when I connect the HD both dissapear. I have also put the HD

 

in the Secondary IDE bus but the board does not recognize it.

Any help will be apreciated.

Check if your drive is on the Intel Tested and Validated List:

Possibly this could be the reason. Sometimes this can happen due to incompatibility.

For the board, assuming that you have all the latest board firmware revision, it is the only thing to check.
