Upgrading SC5299-WS to AXX6DRV3G, do I need APP3HSDBKIT or APPSHSDBKIT?

Subject explains, but I'll repeat:

I have SC5299-WS case (with S5000VSA4DIMM if that matters) with standart non-hotswap drive bay, I want to install AXX6DRV3G kit to be able to hot-swap HDDs.

As I understand from http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=48257 this page, if I want to install AXX6DRV3G, I also need to APPSHSDBKIT, web-site of my local store says I need APP3HSDBKIT.

Found /thread/9807 that post, but it refers AXX6DRV3GEXP, so I still confused what I need.

Can anyone help me with this?

I would follow the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-022695.htm Configuration Guide - it should be APP3HSDBKIT.

That must be a typo, on the first link you provided.

Hello,

Your board has got only sata ports, so you need to use a non-expander backplane. AXX6DRV3G only.

Refer to this post:

Let us know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Kind Regards,

We'll buying SCSASRB card, so it doesn't matter, as I understand. Though we still buy non-expander bay, because, first, bays with with expander is out of stock anyway and second, we will buy additional hot-swap bays for 5.25'' and install 2 drives there, so for abilty to use all 8 channels we're forced to use DRV3G and 8087 to 4SATA cables.

Anyway, thanks for the answers, I've got the answer I needed.
