Hi unfortunately i didn't find information about VCA and troubleshooting for that type of devices.

I'll try to explain what issues we have.

Our company have remote server with two this card, not so long time ago one of the nodes changed status to link_down.

I tried update BIOS and even update EPROM for this card but it didn't help.

in log vcactld.log find nothing even in debug mode.

Also i've been tried update to latest version, OS Centos 7.3 with latest VCA software and images, but it didn't help too.

Could you answer how we can boot/reset/update for turn on this node.

Thnx.

Hello fysh,

Regarding your inquiry with problem on VCA 1283LVV one of the nodes in link_down status.

Please check the PDF with information on the device: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-accessories/VCA_SoftwareUserGuide.pdf https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-accessories/VCA_SoftwareUserGuide.pdf

Also, this version will only work on CentOS 7.2 only.

Could you please provide us with some additional information, for example:
  • Motherboard been use.
  • Memory

Also, will recommend to try to reseat the module.

Please try the following command:
  • Sudo vcactl reset

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/87380/Intel-Visual-Compute-Accelerator https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/87380/Intel-Visual-Compute-Accelerator

On page 16 section 5.3.1 for commands.

If there is anything else we can help please feel free to ask.

Best regards,

Hello fysh,

Thank you for all the information.

I understand you have CentOS 7.3 and working on other nodes but for the troubleshooting purposes we will need 7.2.

Please run the vca_elog.py -d nvram_log15.bin

vca_elog.py -a -i nvram_log15-2.bin

and attach the log.

Also, you can contact your local distributor to request for a RMA.

If there is anything else we can help please feel free to ask.

Best regards,

I tried to search any nvram_log*.bin but no luck, seems this logs disabled in our servers.

Also i tried to find logs in our second one server, same situation, logs not found.

Maybe you can help me, how we can enable this logs in future?.

P.S. Thnx we will try contact with local distributor.
