Windows 2019 Server F6 Drivers for Rear Bay (A2UREARHSDK)

Server Chassis: S2600WF
BIOS Date: 07/07/2020
Drive Bay: A2UREARHSDK (Rear HotSwap SSD)
SSD Drives installed: D3-S4510

Ive tried to install several of the drivers in the Intel_VROC_win_6.2.0.1239_pv.zip file but none of them see the drives.

I have enabled sSATA Controller 0-5, in RAID Mode. (See screenshots)

I enter Windows 2019 Setup, and press F6 to load drivers. From there I select the "iaStor" and when it finished, it still shows my "FrontBay" drives, not the "RearBay" RAID1 mirror of 2 SSD(s) (D3-s4510).

What is the correct drivers I need to use for Windows 2019 to recognize this RAID?

We know VROC could be a little frustrating at the very beginning. Looks like the drivers you are trying are the correct ones, but the BIOS configuration could be wrong.

You want to check and follow this article for instructions on how to setup a RAID volume on VROC. After that it should be seen by Windows during installation.

1. I am not using the nvme modules, I have my drives connected to sSata ports 4 & 5.
2. I enabled the OcuLink for just the CPU(s), but did not enable any of the PCIe ports.
3. Chose the option at windows setup to "Load Drivers"
4. I installed the "iaStorB.inf" driver from here:
   \Intel_VROC_win_6.2.0.1239_pv\SW_Packages\F6-drivers\VROCF6Drivers_MUP.zip\IntelVROC_f6_iaStorE_win8_64

Once I did these items I could then see the drives. My question though is since Im not using the PCIe drivers, did I really need to enable "OcuLink" for both CPU(s). If so, why, I dont recall doing this earlier this year on a very similar setup.

Hello RKell15,

The Oculink ports are for NVMe harddrives only. If you are using regular SAS or SATA you will need to connect them directly to the SATA or s/Sata ports on the board. You won't be able to use the VROC feature either (make sure to disable it). You will need to use the embedded software RAID controllers available in the board, either RSTe or ESRT2 (LSI).

Thanks for your help, the steps in my previous reply were what worked for me. Not sure why the RSTe/ESRT2 didnt work, only the iaStorB.inf file was able to allow the windows installation/setup to see the drives. (Intel(R) C600+/C220+ series chipset sSATA RAID Controller)
