Hi All,I have bought a new Intel workstation P4000CR which doesnt show anything on screen although the motherboard is active with all status LEDs are green (including the major extrnal one in front and back). the power supply (INTEL redundant power supply 750W) shows a green blinking LED which means it is active and all system fans are active plus CPU fans. it is equipped with two XEON E5-2600 series processors (2640 & 2690) + 4 DIMM's of DDR3 1600MHz RAM memory ECC. none of the DIMM slots error status LED's is on, which indicates no problem with the RAM DIMMS. there are two drives one SATA LG DVD burner + one SATA INTEL SSD. ive tried the onboard matrox 2D GC and an add-on PCI-E 2.0 GC with no success. could anyone pls offer some advice? i'm totaly clueless tried to swith different monitors and it didnt help.

You may use this very same board if you install an Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 family that does not have the "V2" ending. For this, you would need to update the BIOS of your board to at least BIOS version 02.01.0002 to support your Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v2 processors.

Hello cpbgil1,
Let me provide some assistance.
Can you confirm if the processor model ends with "V2"? This is because some versions of the board may require a specific BIOS level to support these processors. If they do, please provide me with the PBA number which is located on a white label on the board to confirm if the board you have meet this requirement.
If this is not the issue, we need to check how far the unit is completing the POST sequence. For this, we can check the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-034129.htm Intel® Server Board POST Code Diagnostics lights located on the back of the system (see attachment). The decoder can be found in our http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-033140.htm Technical Product Specifications.
Additionally, do you hear any beep codes? If not, remove all the memory modules to see if at least we get 3 long beeps. This would give us an idea how far the board is completing its POST sequence.
What is the model/part number of the memory you are using?

Hi David,
The processors are of V2 type. The PBA number of the board is G21602-302. in the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-034129.htm Intel® Server Board POST Code Diagnostics lights located on the back of the system only the A LED is lit permanently in green. all other LED are turned off. if i pull the memory DIMMs out then no 3 long beeps are heard while turning the system on. the model of all 4 DIMMs is crucial part# CT8G3ERSDD81866D. 18FED
with specs: 8 GB DDR3 1.5v DR x8 RDIMM

thanks for your help, ireally appriciate it

Thank you for the update. I checked the PBA of the board and I was able to confirm that it comes with an older BIOS release. This revision of the board does not support your current processors.
I would recommend contacting your place of purchase to see if they can swap the board for a newer revision (PBA G21602-306 or later). You may also contact http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Intel Customer Support for more options.

Sorry David, but i didnt understand yor last response: do you say that with a non V2 processor i can update the bios so it will support a V2 processor? I've managed to get un updated version of that motherboard G21602-306 with the necessery BIOS and its status LED is lighting permanent amber which indicates irrecoverable error. when i turn the computer off, the
POST BMC beep codes beeps 1-5-4-2 which means according to the Tchnical product specification manual "Power unit - power unit failure offset". i've tried two different redundant PSU of 750W and both give that error.
Thanks for your help

It is correct, you may install a non-V2 processor to update the BIOS and then install the V2 processor.
For the second board, it is true that the 1-5-4-2 beep code is power related. I know you mentioned that you have tried two different power supplies. It is possible that the issue could be with the board. I am sure our http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Intel Contact Support can assist you with these two boards.
