Hello,
New to board, not sure if this is the location for this question, moderator please move if needed.
We are setting up a new server and IT recommends Xeon X5690 for the processor.
Shopping for the CPU I see that there are Xeon X5690 as well as Xeon HC X5690 as well as Xeon DP X5690. What are the differences between the three?
I appreciate your help in advance.
Best wishes,
YBZ

They should be the same thing. Formal marketing name is "Intel® Xeon® Processor X5690".
I guess "HC" means six cores, and "DP" means dual processing.

Thank you for your help.
While they may be the same thing, they are certainly priced differently...
Thanks again,
