no VGA signal on boot from HNS2600WP

I have a new to me H2312XXKR chassis with four HNS2600WP blades. I added RAM and CPU to one blade and tried to boot it but get no VGA signal. The same RAM DDR3 1600 and CPUs E5-2650 V2 work in another 2600WP blade just fine. This one seems to be new and never used. Is there a trick to setting up these boards for the first time?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.

Based in your description I would like to suggest the following:

** Minimal configuration: 1 CPU and 1 Memory

** Run lastest firmware update: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25710/Intel-Server-Board-S2600WP-Intel-Server-System-H2000WP-System-Update-Package-for-UEFI Intel® Server Board S2600WP / Intel® Server System H2000WP System Update Package for UEFI

Let me know your results.

I tried two of the new blade servers no luck. Still no VGA signal.

I tried the update on two existing 2600WP and it worked like a champ.

Hello,

Thank you for response.

With the two that are not working, try to boot them with only the CPU and no memory, you should get beeps as an alert. Pease share your results.

When I power the chassis with the blades in place I get a 1-5-2-1 set of beeps. Then I power the individual blade and get the same 1-5-2-1 set of beeps.

Hello,

Based on that beep code (1-5-2-1), the http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/545037_g44057_007_s2600wp_tps_r1_61.pdf Technical Product Specification [page 52 / 4.10 Diagnostics and Beep Code Generation] states the following:

** No CPUs installed or first CPU socket is empty.

** CPU Missing Sensor.

Is there any chance for you to test another processor?

This was actually a processor from another working 2600WP that I had not tried before. E5-2650 2.6Ghz 8 cores

I'm wondering if it needs both CPU populated and memory.

Or is there a particular processor that's better to test with. I have some E5-2630L

Hello,

Based on that beep code (1-5-4-), the http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/545037_g44057_007_s2600wp_tps_r1_61.pdf Technical Product Specification [page 52 / 4.10 Diagnostics and Beep Code Generation] states the following:

** Power fault: DC power is unexpectedly lost (power good dropout).

** Power unit - power unit failure offset.
