Hello,

Here are our recommendations for this issue:

Make sure that the memory you are using complies with the specifications from page # 26 section 3.2.2 :

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/g34153004_s2600ip_w2600cr_tps_rev151.pdf Technical Product Specification

- Test one memory module at the time to ensure there are not defective DIMMS or slots.

- Update the firmware for the server board to the latest version available:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26297/Intel-Server-Board-S2600IP-and-Intel-Workstation-Board-W2600CR-Firmware-Update-Package-for-Extensible-Firmware-Interface-EFI-?product=56338 Firmware Update Package for Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI)

- If the issue persists, I will suggest checking the validated hardware for the board http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000008047.html here

What processors do you have installed? What DIMMs are these you are attempting to install?

At the same time, I am going to move this query into the Server forum. This forum is for Intel's Desktop board products...

Hello,

To answer your question, we recommend using 2, 4, 8,16 or 32GB memory modules instead.

My recommendation, entering into this discussion, is to stick with a single DIMM in every channel. If you need more, make it two DIMMs in every channel.

If you are using 12 DIMMs, I presume this means that you have a single DIMM in 4 of the memory channels and two DIMMs in the other 4 memory channels. If you have it balanced, you have 6 DIMMs attached to one processor and 6 DIMMs attached to the other processor. In theory, this should work, but issues (noise, etc.) can arise when you use two DIMMs on a channel. So, some questions and things to try:

  • If you test with a single DIMM in each channel, all plugged into the blue connectors, does it work cleanly?
  • If you test with a single DIMM in each channel, all plugged into the black connectors, does it work cleanly?
  • If you test with a single DIMM in each channel of processor A and two DIMMs in each channel of processor B, does this work cleanly?
  • If you test with a single DIMM in each channel of processor B and two DIMMs in each channel of processor A, does this work cleanly?

Hope this helps,

puis 8 barrette sur les noir ça ne marche toujours pas

Hhmmm, this result would seem to indicate that there is an incompatibility between the DIMMs and the board. You need to verify their compatibility with the board's requirements...

dans la configuration je vois que 24GB au lui de 48GB pourquoi ? j'ai vérifier les barrette sont identique et fonctionne toute une par une

I am not sure that I understand what you are asking. Have you verified that it will work with 8 DIMMs in just the blue connectors? If this works, try these same 8 DIMMs in the black connectors...

j'ai tester de connecter les 8 DIMMs sur les bleu et ensuite sur les noir et il me vois que 16 GB

So you are seeing only 16GB when you should be seeing 32GB? At what point are you seeing this? From BIOS, it is possible that only the memory plugged into the DIMM sockets for the primary processor is going to be seen. Can you check this again from within Windows?

Dans le bios mais aussi dans windows je ne vois que 16GB je ne sais vraiment pas comment faire. Le Problème vient du processeur ? de la carte mère ? ou bien de Windows ?

il serait plus simple de communiquer par mail directement

You might think that email is easier, but translation becomes a pain then.

If this isn't working, it could be the fault of the BIOS, it could be the fault of the board or it could be a fault in one of the processors; there's no easy way to tell. Updating the BIOS to the latest is the best first step. Use the Recovery Method if you can. If that doesn't work, all you can do it use trial and error and see what RAM works and what doesn't. If it isn't consistent, you can only look at the board and/or processors; a more difficult investigation...

Hope this helps,
