s1200bt windows server 2016

I've got an Samsung 840 EVO (but I've used WD Red / Blue / Gold and a couple of Seagate Hdd's too) connected one of the 4 sataII ports all by itself. I've got the mass storage controller in the bios set to AHCI. I've also got a PNY video card in the x8 slot. That's it.

Windows 2016 setup gets past the first re-boot. Then it BSOD's. Doesn't complete the setup. Now, Win 2012 r2 set's up just fine. Any ideas?

That is because this is operative system is not validated for this board. You will se the validated software in the following link:
