Which server board are you using? Did you get the IPMI driver installed properly? (run install.cmd under InstallationEM64T folder, and you should see "Intel Intelligent Management Bus Driver V13.9" in device manager)

That is a strange one. Never had any issues with SELVIEW or SYSCFG loading.

They both use the IMBDVR so my guess would be that the driver did not get installed correctly somehow,

Try a driver reinstall by opening a command window and navagating to C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\S5500_Windows_4_2\Windows_SYSCFG_V501_B25\InstallationEM64T

then run C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\S5500_Windows_4_2\Windows_SYSCFG_V501_B25\InstallationEM64T\ Install.cmd \

(Don't forget the slash at the end to tell it the files are in this directory)

Option B:

Down load the EFI Uttility package http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18317&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18317&lang=eng

extract to USB key

reboot system & press F6 for boot menu

Select EFI

mount USB fob (FS0: most likley)

run SELVIEW from fob.

Option C

Yes, any IPMI tool can be configured to access and clear the SEL log, but it is a lot more work to explain than the first 2 options.

hmz, syscfg now works.

the problem is with selview, because when I try to install the driver I get:

"MSIPMI Driver detected. Skipping IMBDRV installation"

so my guess is that ms somehow installed some generic driver that isn't working very well the problem is I fail to find the ms name for it to uninstall ?

Paul,

I'm up against the same error. Can you provide some command line details on how you resolved it?

Thanks,

Bill

Hello, just said. I uninstalled the microsoft generic impi driver. do not reboot, go then and install the impi driver prior using sel view and it will work
