Hello,

I want to use intel CBDMA driver for a memcpy from system memory to MMIO region.

Speaking of xilinx, they have their pcie dma throghput/performance numbers I can see like below.

https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=47261063-18bd297b-47279b2c-0cc47a314e9a-3102acb289223caa&q=1&e=c9dad04e-3cde-4b6d-873b-9d594f62cfb5&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.xilinx.com%2Fsupport%2Fanswers%2F68049.html

If someone knows where document about intel ioat DMA driver performance is, please let me know. Thanks.

Hello jy7805heo,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to better assist you, please provide the following:

1. Model name of the CPU that you are using.

2. Are you using a laptop or a desktop computer?

3. Are you using any other Intel product? If so, can you provide the model name?

Hello jy7805heo,

Thank you for joining the community

I am from the servers department. I think this white paper could be useful:

White Paper: Accelerating High-Speed Networking with Intel® I/OAT

Take into consideration that more specific info might require a Corporate Non-Disclosure Agreement between your company and Intel.

Hope it helps

Thank you, JoseH, but I've already read it and it seems old article. (2006)

Could I consider that performance numbers as latest ?

@jy7805heo

I know it's difficult to find what you may be looking for. At least make a reasonable start to a topic for valid information.

And again you are not even looking in the right place. Thanks for that other link;

Hello jy7805heo,

We appreciate the additional information

Can you please let us know if there is a specific driver (Linux kernel, DPDK, SPDK) that you are interested in or just information on what the Xeon processor hardware is capable of?

DPDK is Data Plane Development Kit (dpdk.org).

SPDK is Storage Performance Development Kit (spdk.io , https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/introduction-to-the-storage-performance-development-kit-spdk.html)

We will be looking forward to your updates.

Hello jy7805heo,

Thank you for the info. Just to recap on the thread, you are using the DPDK, following this guide https://doc.dpdk.org/guides/rawdevs/ioat.html and need the Intel I/OAT DMA driver as one of the steps from the guide. Am I correct? If not please let me know

Hello JoesH,

You are correct, and the I/OAT DMA driver is working fine at my end. The one I want to get is an INTEL official performance result of an I/OAT driver. (if you have)

Hello jy7805heo,

We regret to inform you that we don't have such a document containing performance data of the I/OAT drive.

We have NDA documentation for CBDMA performance for memory to MMIO/PCIe transfers.

This shows the performance capabilities of the CBDMA HW engine itself.

Do you strictly require this specific information?

Hello JoseH,

Thank you for you support. I agree to close this case, but

We have NDA documentation for CBDMA performance for memory to MMIO/PCIe transfers.

--> could you share this documentation if possible?  Thank you.
