Cannot log into Intel-XDK [SOLVED]

Hi,

I have an account on the Intel XDK Developer Zone that works perfectly on the website. However, when I use it to log in the Intel XDK software, first time I try then the log in widget is reset, second time I run into an exception:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, but I also tried on Windows 8 and Archlinux: same issue.

What am I missing?

Oh, I figured it out!

My old password contained this character: < and even though I was able to use it to log into the website, the Intel-XDK seemed to hate it.

Now I am able to log into Intel-XDK with the same e-mail address.

Thanks for the help.

I just created a new account and was able to log in. Can you try again? Its possible that IDZ was having network issues when you last tried to login.

I retried and got the same behavior.

I'll just sum up what I did:

- If I try to log in with my e-mail address (or my ID) and a wrong password, the login dialog is updated and a yellow warning message appears to tell me that "Username/Password does not exist".

- If I try to log in with my e-mail address (or my ID) and my actual password, then the message does't show up, but the login dialog is still updated and if I retry then I get the exception listed above.

So I decided to Sign Up instead, giving another e-mail address, and when I press the Submit button, I get redirected to the login dialog, as if I just clicked on the Login button (which I did not, obviously). I decided to wait several minutes to see if I would receive an e-mail to confirm registration, but nothing happened, even in the spam box. And the same behavior occured in the login dialog with this new e-mail address, now recognized as a valid registered one, since no "Username/Password does not exist" message shows up when I use it with the correct password. I'm going to end up having created a bunch of accounts.

This time it was on Archlinux, but I don't think that the OS is relevant here. Maybe the Intel-XDK does not like my country, or my password, or my name, I admit that I'm a little bit confused.

Could it be a matter of firewall, or sudo access?

Hello Valentin, I asked one of the engineers in charge of the login features to take a look and he does not find a record of your userid or email address in the XDK login database. I'm wondering if you are using the correct userid? Or if something has gone haywire with your account. I'll send you a separate private message with more details.

Hello Valentin, are you trying to login from a work location, where there may be a proxy or firewall in the way? We do occasionally have issues with proxies and certain types of firewalls. Are you able to successfully log into the XDK from your home network connection?

I'll try to get this in front of the appropriate engineers to see if they can figure out what is going wrong.

p.s. Are you able to log into App Center with your IDZ login? Go here to try: https://appcenter.html5tools-software.intel.com

Hi Paul,

I tried to log into App Center at home, using Archlinux, and I encountered the excact same behavior: the login widget were cleared without any warning message, and the second time I saw the exception reported in my first message.

On the other hand, I'm able to log into the website, since I'm posting on the forum.

Maybe it's because I'm using an account created from the website?

I've forwarded the info I have regarding this issue to the engineers that are working on the new login system, including your information that you provided in this most recent post. Hoping they'll be able to provide a resolution.

The engineer in charge tells me he cannot reproduce what is happening and confirms that your account does not exist in the XDK account logs. He recommends that you go to the App Center account creation page from your browser and try to create an XDK account there using the same login information that you use with your software.intel.com account. Here's that page: https://appcenter.html5tools-software.intel.com/csd/Cloud-Services-Dashboard-Sign-Up.aspx

I tried what you told me, but it didn't work either: I got the same error page.

Maybe I should try to start again and create a new account. What do you think?

Yes, I would try that. They are working on some code to help resolve some login issues, but that will take some time to implement. So for now, creating a new account is probably the best plan of action. BTW -- our current version of App Preview for Android only allows accounts with userids formatted as an email address, so you might want to use an email address for the userid -- that's a known bug that will be fixed, but may also take some time.

Fantastic! I've given that info to the engineers that are working on the login integration, could be something they are doing (or not doing) to make the software.intel.com and XDK passwords more compatible. Thank you very much for that feedback.
