Correct Licensing for Fortran/C++ Compilers and MKL on Multi-user Mac Pro Server and Single-user MacBook Pro

Hi,

I am trying to get the pricing for licensing the Fortran and C++ compilers and the Math Kernel Library on a single-user MacBook Pro and a multi-user Mac Pro at an academic institution. I think the composer edition Parallel Studio XE for OS X is the right product, but I'm unsure as to which selection best represents what I should choose. I have mixed Fortran, C, and C++ programs that I need to compile on each platform, and I would prefer not to have to rely on the GNU products. Please advise.

Sincerely,

William

Hi, William

I think an academic license for Intel(R) Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition should be enough for you.

It includes C++ and/or Fortran* compilers, performance libraries(MKL), and parallel models.

Other Editions, like professional Edition provide other valuable tools to help tuning your application, like performance profiling, memory/thread checkers. You may consider if needed. See more introduction at https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-parallel-studio-xe.

For license type, if you have only one developer, named-user license is enough to support up to three systems to install the software. For more developers, you may consider multiple named-user license or floating license.

Please refer to End User License Agreement(EULA) at https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/end-user-license-agreement for complete information.

You may also contact a local reseller for details: https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-software-products-resellers/

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
