Hello, I've posted here before, but I didn't want to bump an old topic.
I'm having the same problem as before - I update my drivers and my screen's colors go funny.
I would take a screenshot, but the screenshot appears correct, it's just that it ISN'T on the display.
Instead, I took two pictures with my camera, so they're attached.
So far, I've only seen 1 other person with this problem, and his topic is also very old...
If you know a solution that DOESN'T involve downgrading my drivers, please reply!
Thanks.

Well, I suppose THIS is an old thread now, too. But I'm here to say I share your same problem. I've just recently stumbled into it while away from home for an extended period of time with only my Inspiron 1525 for company. I've been trying to squeeze some performance out of it for a particular game, and went through the manual driver updates and the monitor skittling.
Here's a the thread you were referring to:
Misery loves company, right? Both you and the OP from the other thread may have moved on with your life now and bought a new laptop, for all I know.
No solution evident. I found a good amount of people complaining on some old WOW board threads, so it's more than just the three of us that have experienced the problem, historically:
Wish there was some option here besides 1) rolling back to 2008 drivers (thanks, Dell) or 2) using newer drivers and cranking up the gamma and the brightness to uncomfortable levels.
I've researched quite a few dead ends. Best explanation I've seen for the problem was this from beerandcandy in the original thread, that dell might have set up the internal video panel as 24 bit instead of 18 bit in their VBT.
Now, what to do about that... nothing, right? I can't find any software solution to adjust for that problem, even if that is what's responsible.
