If you are upgrading your products from a 2015 (or earlier) version to a 2016 version and encounter licensing difficulties, please see https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/required-product-license-upgrade-for-intel-parallel-studio-xe-2016 for information on the required license upgrade.

Thanks. We have tried to follow this procedure, but have also downgraded our license. However, the registration centre still lists Parallel Studio (rather than Cluster Studio) for download, which won't then install with our new license. There seems to be no way to download an installable version of the Intel software.

Hi,

I just renewed my Intel Cluster Studio for Windows and received the new serial number.  The registration site shows that my license covers the 2016 version, but when I attempt to install the 2016 version, I get the Activation rights do no allow this software to be installed.

Before I did this, I decided to uninstall much older versions that were lingering on my system, but I wouldn't think that would prevent the install of the 2016 version that I just paid for.

Any suggestions?

If you have an issue with Intel Cluster Studio upgrade to 2016 please to the following:

1. If you have an Intel Premier Support account, file a ticket.

2. If you want to post in this forum please start a new thread

3. Put any private information, such as serial number, in a private message so we can help you get the product you need.

Regards,

Noga

The upgrade and the article posted above refer to Intel Parallel Studio XE 2016 and Intel System Studio 2016

I have 2 Floating Licenses  for Intel Cluster Studio for Linux. I am running icc 11,12, and 14 versions under these existing licenses.

I am about to install icc 16, licenses obtained (via upgrade) for  Intel® Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition for Linux.

Will the new licenses for icc 16 support running the older versions (above)  of the Intel compiler which I need for existing customer support?

If I understand your question correctly, you are about to upgrade to Intel® Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition for Linux. Although your license will be for the 2016 product you will be able to download and install legacy compilers. The following articles should help with the process:

What exactly triggers the generation of the new serial number?  Downloading the update from the registration center or is there something else I have do?  If it's just downloading, how long does it take for the system to generate the new number?  This is for offline install so my only choice is to give it the licence file or go 30 day evaluation.
