Very noisy depth image from the R200 camera, almost unusable.

I needed a depth camera for a project so I bought two R200 units. I'm appalled by the low quality and insane amount of noise in the depth image. Here is a screen capture of the depth feed, the FPS is a bit low due to the capture process, but the noise, oh boy:

I've worked with the previous version of the world-facing RealSense, and it was nothing like this.

Is this what I can expect from it or am I doing something wrong?
