Dear all,

I was starting mpss on an intel xeon phi 7120 with "service mpss start" and by mistake i sent an ctrl^c. Now mpss doesn´t start and i've tryied to work around this issue fow a while but with no success.

My systemctl status mpss.service message is:

gzip: /var/mpss/mic3.image.gz: No space left on device
gzip: /var/mpss/mic0.image.gz: No space left on device
gzip: /var/mpss/mic5.image.gz: No space left on device
gzip: /var/mpss/mic1.image.gz: No space left on device
gzip: /var/mpss/mic7.image.gz: No space left on device
mpss[21553]: [FAILED]
systemd[1]: mpss.service: control process exited, code=exited status=8
systemd[1]: Failed to start Intel(R) MPSS control service.
systemd[1]: Unit mpss.service entered failed state.
systemd[1]: mpss.service failed.

Can someone help me on this problem?

Thank you.
Best regards,

João Rocha

check your /var partition - it seems to have reach full capacity. Whether this is due to you aborting the "service mpss start" command is unclear to me.  Clean up any temp file in /var/mpss/mic* and try again.

Dear JJK,

Thank you for your reply. I have every micN.image.gz uncompressed except for mic0.image.gz and also micN.export for mic0 to mic7. Should i remove the *.export files and gzip the micN.image? When i restart MPSS the .gz files are gunzipped again...
I got this messages (for all the mics except mic0) from systemctl status mpss.service:

gzip: /var/mpss/mic5.image.gz: No space left on device
[FAILED]
mpss.service: control process exited, code=exited status=6
Failed to start Intel(R) MPSS control service.
Unit mpss.service entered failed state.
mpss.service failed.

Thanks again and sorry for my delayed answer.

Cheers;
João Rocha
